Season two of The Witcher is already highly anticipated and Netflix is fanning the fire by revealing the actor who will play Vesemir. Netflix tweeted out that Kim Bodnia will be taking the role of the old witcher and Geralt’s teacher.

Kim Bodnia is best known for playing Konstatin in Killing Eve, Bodnia is a Danish actor who became widely known for his role as police detective Martin Rohde in the Scandinavian crime drama series The Bridge. Showrunner and executive producer Lauren Schmidt Hissrich spoke highly of Bodnia after the reveal.

“I am so thrilled to welcome Kim Bodnia to the cast of The Witcher. I have admired his unique talents in shows like Killing Eve and The Bridge, and cannot wait for him to bring strength, tenacity, and warmth to the character of Vesemir, who is such an integral part of our upcoming season.”

Vesemir is the oldest witcher in the series, and with that age comes a great deal of wisdom. Fans of the show may recall Geralt murmuring the name of the old witcher near the end of the first season.

It’s also been confirmed that the animated Witcher movie will be centred on Vesemir. The movie is called The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf.

The Witcher 3 has experienced an increase in sales since the Netflix series aired. The series has been resonated with critics and fans of the source materials and games alike.

PlatinumGames has revealed its intent to step into the live service game market with a brand new studio. The studio is simply called PlatinumGames Tokyo and is set to open this April.

The company announced the new studio with a collection of statements from several board members. Vice President and studio head, Atsushi Inaba, spoke on the direction the new studio will undertake.

“So far, the name PlatinumGames has been nearly synonymous with single-player action games. But going forward, we’re looking to expand into new genres and styles of play.”

One new area the company is looking into is what Inaba calls “console live ops game development.” The game style he describes resembles models like Destiny 2, and Apex Legends, which are continually updated after initial release. Inaba also makes it clear that the studio will be focusing on console games.

“One of these new challenges for us is console live ops game development. These aren’t games we’d work on until they were done, and that’s all – rather, we’d continue working on them to provide new content long after release. We want to explore this ongoing development pattern in the home console space.”

Although the studio appears to be focused on online multiplayer games, Inaba has hinted that players can expect similar gameplay to other PlatinumGames titles.

“PlatinumGames Tokyo is home to both developers interested in refining PlatinumGames-style gameplay and developers who are interested in exploring live ops support. They’ll be hard at work on electrifying content for you soon.”

PlatinumGames recently crowdfunded a remaster of Wonderful 101 in record time.

GDC 2020 is officially postponed and will no longer be occurring in March. The spread of coronavirus has already led to several developers pulling out of the event before the cancellation.

The official announcement was posted on the GDC website earlier today.

“After close consultation with our partners in the game development industry and community around the world, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone the Game Developers Conference this March.

Having spent the past year preparing for the show with our advisory boards, speakers, exhibitors, and event partners, we’re genuinely upset and disappointed not to be able to host you at this time .

We want to thank all our customers and partners for their support, open discussions and encouragement. As everyone has been reminding us, great things happen when the community comes together and connects at GDC. For this reason, we fully intend to host a GDC event later in the summer. We will be working with our partners to finalize the details and will share more information about our plans in the coming weeks”

It is unknown if and when GDC will be rescheduled this year. Those who have purchased passes for the event will receive an email with further details about what to expect with regards to refunds.

Talks and panels scheduled for GDC 2020 may still happen. The GDC is looking to record and release the presentations as videos that will be available on their YouTube channel. The conference speakers are free to choose whether or not they will record their talks for GDC to use. The videos will be available for free.

GDC also intends to stream content on Twitch during the week that the event was originally set to run (March 16- 20).

It should come as no surprise that three of the top five Pokemon are playable characters in the Super Smash Bros series. The fact that longtime fan favourite, Charizard, has been beaten out by newer generation Pokemon is interesting.

Pokemon’s official mascot, Pikachu, ranked in at 19. This isn’t a bad ranking, but as Fanbyte points out, this puts Pikachu behind Mimkyu, a Pokemon whoze goal is to become as loved as Pikachu one day. It seems that day has finally come for Mimikyu. Maybe we’ll get to see what that Pokemon looks like under its disguise now.

Overall, the poll contains a diverse mixture of Pokemon across the many generations. Even Pokemon from the newest games made the list, such as Corviknight, who ranked at 25.

Pokemon Day is full of news and events for Pokemon fans. The Pokemon Company has unveiled the newest Mythical Pokemon, who will be available in Pokemon Sword and Shield at some point. A special Max Raid event is also going on in Sword and Shield. Players will be able to face off against Dynamax Mewtwo and Dynamax version of the Kanto starter Pokemon and their evolved forms.

Dynamax Mewtwo Max Raids have been announced as part of Pokemon Day celebrations. Players can fight a large Mewtwo in Pokemon Sword and Shield between today and March 1. Pokemon Day is February 27 and it celebrates the anniversary of Pokemon Red and Green’s launch in Japan in 1996.

Players who defeat Dynamax Mewtwo will not be able to catch the legendary Pokemon, but they will receive rare items, including Ability Capsules,  as a reward. Mewtwo isn’t the only classic Pokemon that’s dynamaxing for Pokemon Day. Players have a chance to run into Dynamax Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Charmander, Charmeleon, Squirtle, and Wartortle. Unlike Mewtwo, players will be able to catch these Pokemon if they defeat them in battle.

Max Raid Battles are a multiplayer feature in Pokemon Sword and Shield that lets players team up to take down Dynamax Pokemon. Successfully defeating a Dynamax Pokemon usually allows players to try and capture the Pokemon.

Pokemon Day is a big day for Pokemon news and events. The Pokemon Company have revealed the newest Mythical Pokemon for Sword and Shield. The Pokemon Twitter account is tweeting about the anniversary all day, and several other companies are trying to get involved in the hype. A new mythical Pokemon, Zarude, has been revealed for Pokemon Sword and Shield. The announcement is part of The Pokemon Company’s Pokemon Day celebrations. Pokemon Day is February 27.

The new Mythical Pokemon was revealed with a trailer that launched today. Zarude is a Dark/Grass type Pokemon. The new Pokemon is a large creature with a height of 5’11”. The “rogue monkey” has a predominantly black and white colour scheme. The trailer shows the mythical Pokemon running around and battling various other Pokemon within the game.

The Pokemon Company has included a Pokedex-style description along with the trailer.

“Zarude is a Dark- and Grass-type Pokémon that can grow vines from the back of its neck, its wrists, and the soles of its feet at will. The vines are strong and flexible and are useful for many different situations. They can be used to wrap around tree branches to move around and grab Berries from distant branches, and they even have healing properties.”

A mythical Pokemon is a class of Pokemon that’s even more rare than legendary Pokemon. The most famous mythical Pokemon is Mew, but there are about 20 other mythicals in the series.

The announcement does not make it clear how players can capture their own Zarude, but it does state that the new creature “can’t be encountered in regular gameplay.” It is possible that Zarude may be included in the Expansion Pass content for Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Rumours of a PC Horizon Zero Dawn are gaining traction thanks to Amazon. The French Amazon website accidentally listed the PC Horizon Zero Dawn on their website. The listing has since been taken down.

GamesRadar caught wind of the listing through a Resetera forum post earlier today. Although the listing has been removed, the damage is already done.

Rumours of a PC port go back to December of last year. A report from Kotaku in January added weight to those rumours. The report cites three anonymous sources who are privy to Sony’s plans for the game. Sony has not made an official statement about the possibility of a PC Horizon Zero Dawn port.

Exclusive games are becoming more of a rarity these days. Death Stranding is set to hit PC later this year, and Final Fantasy 7 Remake is slotted to hit other platforms next year.

Horizon Zero Dawn initially released in February 2017. The action-adventure game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where machines have replaced most of the local wildlife and threaten the existence of primitive human societies. The game was well-received critically and has a strong following.

March is almost upon and us and that means the free March PS Plus games are almost here too. The third month of 2020 is bringing Shadow of the Colossus and Sonic Forces to PS Plus users.

The games are set to become available on March 3, the first Tuesday of the month. PS Plus users have until March 2 to download February’s games, The Bioshock Collection and The Sims 4.

Shadow of the Colossus is a action-adventure game originally released for the PS2 in 2005. PS Plus users will get access to the PS4 remake which was released in February 2018. The game has 91/100 on Metacritc and a strong cult following.

Sonic Forces is a 3D Sonic game that allows players to build their own Sonic character and use them in-game. The game was released in November 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The PS4 version of the game has a 57/100 rating on Metacritic.

Along with the two free March PS Plus games, PS Plus users will also have exclusive access to a trial weekend for Predator: Hunting Grounds. The trail weekend will take place between March 27 and March 29. The game is based on the Predator movies. Players will either squad up and attempt to take down a Predator, or take on the role of the Predator and hunt other players.

PAX East is taking another loss just before the event kicks off tomorrow. CD Projekt Red and PUBG Corp have both announced that they will no longer be in attendance at the gaming convention this year.

Stephanie Bayer, North American head of communications for CD Projekt Red, announced the company’s decision via tweet.

“I just found out my team is cancelling our PAX East trip so I will NOT be at PAX East as previously planned. I should still be at GDC though!”

Bayer clarified that CD Projekt Red had no plans to showcase Cyberpunk 2077, but several staff members were meant to attend the event.

Word of PUBG Corp’s cancellation comes through Gamespot. The company cited the continued spread of novel coronavirus as the reason for its decision to pull out of the event.

PUBG Corp was meant to host a happy hour event at a local Boston pub for fans of PUBG. They have not fully cancelled the event though, they’ve merely postponed it.

“We will be rescheduling this plan for an upcoming event, once the coronavirus is under control and travel returns to normal,” said PUBG Corp.

Several major players have reduced their presence or fully dropped out of PAX East. Square Enix and Capcom have both cancelled appearances from their dev teams. Sony has dropped out of both PAX and GDC 2020. EA will no longer be at GDC. The cancellations are all in response to the spread of novel coronavirus.

These cancellations don’t just affect the game industry. Boston pulls in a large amount of revenue from hosting the event. Boston’s mayor has publicly urged Sony to reverse their decision to drop out of PAX East. Sony has not made an official acknowledgement of the mayor’s request as of yet.

Overwatch experimental mode is letting players test massive changes to Overwatch’s current gameplay structure. The mode, which launched today, is currently testing the viability of team composition that differs from the established 2-2-2.

Blizzard introduced a role queue system in Overwatch last year that forced teams to be made up of two support characters, two damage characters, and two tanks.Players choose which role they want to play before they enter a match. The change was made to counteract the GOATS meta, which dominated competitive and casual play for a long time.

Wait times for damage players are much longer than the waits for support and task players. Experimental mode is allowing for three damage characters, two support, and one tank to try and alleviate that issue. Some tank heroes in Overwatch experimental mode have their skill sets altered to make them a more viable solo tank option. For example, Roadhog’s self-heal ability now has an AoE healing effect to help allies recover as well.

The changes in this mode are not necessarily going to be implemented on a permanent basis. The purpose of the mode is to playtest the changes on a massive scale and get feedback from the community.

The update also added Ashe’s Mardi Gras Challenge. Players can collect Mardi Gras themed sprays, icons, and an Ashe skin, simply by winning matches in any mode between February 25 and March 9.

Temtem, the Pokemon-like MMO has been a runaway hit, but the dev team isn’t going to just bask in their success. Game developer Crema made a blog post today that lays out what the team is planning in the short-term for the game.

Crema has divided their content map into two portions: short-term and mid-term. The mid-term section will be published tomorrow. The short-term goals are split into Spring, Summer, and Fall of 2020.

Spring 2020 will add ranked matchmaking and a spectator mode, as well as in-game chat and Clubs, the Temtem version of clans. Ranked matchmaking will include an autoscaling feature which will give players fully levelled versions of their Tems. This auto-scaling is meant to allow new players to start playing competitively as soon as possible,. Crema has confirmed that their will be other competitive modes that will not use the auto-scaling feature.

Summer 2020 brings a new island, player housing, climbing gear, and updated emotes to the game. More importantly, 25 new Temtem will be added to the game, with 25 more to be added in Fall 2020.

Along with new creatures, Fall 2020 is set to bring another new island, in-game tournaments, achievements, a quest diary, and the game’s first mythical Tem.

Crema is only giving a general release window for when the new content will drop to avoid disappointment.

“We’re not really big fans of having public dates for everything, they add a lot of unnecessary pressure on the team and they make making changes and swapping features around a very difficult task. We know everyone else likes dates though, so we’ve decided to include open dates for each block of features. Take them with a grain of salt and expect delays and features moved around dates.”

Temtem launched in Early Access on Steam on January 21.

EA has announced that it will no longer be attending GDC 2020 this year. GDC is set to run from March 16 to March 20 in San Francisco. Sony and Kojima Productions have both already pulled out of the event.

The news broke through a LinkedIn post from Alex Sherer, an ad product development specialist at EA..

“Just received word from corporate, and EA will be limiting our presence at GDC, cancelling our participation in official GDC events, and all EA employees have been advised to not travel to San Francisco for the conference.”

Sherer’s post was confirmed by Gamespot, who reached out to EA for a statement.

“”Having closely followed the global situation with Coronavirus and with the recent escalation of cases in new regions, we have decided to take additional steps to protect the wellbeing of our employees including the restriction of all non-essential travel. As a result we are also cancelling our official participation at GDC and limiting attendance to other events. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will adjust guidelines to our employees as we feel is appropriate.”

Coronavirus has made a massive impact on global affairs, and the video game industry is no exception. Nintendo is having trouble keeping up with Switch manufacturing due to the virus. The Switch version of Outer Worlds has been delayed. The virus is also responsible for the cancellation and postponement of several gaming events and tournaments.

A new trailer dropped, detailing  Streets of Rage 4 multiplayer, and the final new playable character. along with some exciting multiplayer options. The game’s fifth playable character is Floyd Iraia, a burly man with robot arms.

The trailer opens by showing off Floyd, and his moveset. The man with the cybernetic arms obviously focuses heavily on using those arms to punch and throw enemies. The trailer also shows Floyd using his arm to shock enemies and to fire a massive laser.

Floyd is far from the most exciting reveal in the trailer. Co-developers Dotemu and Lizardcube have added both online and local multiplayer to the game. Online multiplayer will allow you to play through the game with one other person. Local multiplayer is breaking ground for the beat-em-ip series as it allows up to four players at a time. All previous Streets of Rage entries have only allowed for two players.

The Streets of Rage franchise launched in August 1991. The previous instalment, Streets of Rage 3, released in March 1994. All three games have been released as part of Sega Genesis Classics.

Currently, Streets of Rage 4 is set to release in Spring of this year. There is no firm release date yet. The game began production in 2018 and was announced the same year. Dotemu and Lizardcube, who published and developed 2017’s Wonder Boy: The Dragon Trap, approached Sega about making a Streets of Rage sequel shortly after finishing up on Wonder Boy.

Monster Hunter Festa is still set to run in Boston this Saturday, but without its special guest. Capcom announced through a tweet today that the Monster Hunter World dev team will no longer be flying out to the event.

Sony has recently pulled out of PAX East and GDC 2020 due to novel coronavirus. Square Enix has also reduced its presence due to coronavirus. Capcom’s tweet does not mention what the cause for the cancellation of the dev team appearance is.

Monster Hunter Festa is not part of PAX East, but will be running during the event. The festa promise exclusive swag, the opportunity to play the game with others, photo ops, a cosplay showcase, and more.

Originally, the Monster Hunter dev team was meant to give a presentation and have an autograph signing session. Although the autograph signing is cancelled, there will still be news about Monster Hunter World: Iceborne revealed at the event.

Monster Hunter Festa takes place at The Royale in Boston on February 29. The festivities start at 8 P.M. local time. The festa does conflict with some PAX activities, so attendees may have to make some hard choices between the two events.

The NAVGTR Awards winners have been announced and Control came out as the most awarded game of the year. Control won six awards including Technical Animation, Contemporary Art Direction, 3D Control Design, Direction in a Game Cinema, Technical Graphics, and Lighting/Texturing. The game was also nominated for Best Original Action Game and Game of the Year but lost in both categories to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

The winners of the NAVGTR Awards are determined by the National Academy of Video Game Trade Reviewers, a non-profit media organization of 820 media voters and 9,500 subscribers. The awards cover 57 different categories which cover a variety of video game design aspects, from animation to sound effects, writing, and more.

The runners-up for most awards was Kojima Production’s Death Stranding, and The Outer Worlds with five awards each. Death Stranding performed strongly in the audio categories, where it won Best Song Collection, Best Original or Adapted Song, and Best Sound Editing in a Game Cinema.

With NAVGTR wrapping up, gamers can look forward to the annual War of Awards. Described as “an awards showdown,” The event pits the winners of NAVGTR, DICE, Golden Joysticks, IGF, SXSW, GDC, GANG, and The Game Awards against each other to determine the best of the award winning games.

Quantum League, developed by Nimble Giant Entertainment, is entering open beta today. The beta will end on March 2. Players can access the open beta through Steam.

The game calls itself the “Time Paradox Shooter” as its gameplays revolves around the concept of time loops. Each match has players face off in 1v1 or 2v2 modes. After one team is eliminated, the match is reset, but the players’ movements and actions from the last round have been recorded and are being played out by their past selves. This allows players to team up with their past selves to take out the enemy team.

The game’s cinematic trailer shows off a sleek, futuristic design, not dissimilar from Blizzard’s Overwatch. The logo mimics the styling of American sports leagues such as the NBA.

Nimble Giant Entertainment is based out of Argentina. The developer recently acquired Jeronimo Barerra, a former Rockstar Games employee, as their VP of development in 2019.

“The level of innovation and the quality of the execution in Quantum League is one of the reasons that lured me into Nimble Giant,” said Barerra.

“The game is truly bringing something new, adding endless strategic depth and propelling the multiplayer FPS genre forward.”

The game is expected to launch in Early Access for PC later this year.

Quantum League isn’t the only game entering open beta this weekend. Players can also test out the survival horror title Red Dusk Ridge.

Independent game developer, Happy Killbot, has announced that its new game Red Dusk Ridge is now in open beta. Players are able to download and test the game between now and March 3.

Red Dusk Ridge is a survival horror game in which players must explore a hostile environment while trying to solve the mystery of Red Dusk Ridge and how they came to be there.

The game is available in open beta as of today. The open beta will continue until March 3. The full game officially releases on March 5. A trailer launched along with the announcement of the open beta.

The gameplay is from a first-person perspective. The player is able to inspect and manipulate objects, and even carry some items, including weapons. The trailer shows that players can expect to die frequently throughout the game from threats both seen and unseen. The developer has only revealed cryptic details about the game and its story.

“Those who fail to learn the secret will suffer, and those who do learn the secret but fail to act will suffer the most,” said the developer who wishes to remain anonymous.

“The only way to guarantee the future doesn’t control you, is by controlling the future today.”

Survival horror is a popular genre/theme for independent games. Games from Lone Survivor to Inside and Limbo, and others, all carry some elements of survival, horror, and survival horror.

Square Enix has announced that it will be reducing the size of its presence at PAX East next week. The company has cited the spread of COVID-19, more commonly known as novel coronavirus, as the driving factor behind this decision.

The announcement came from the official Final Fantasy XIV website.

“As the community may be aware, COVID-19 (also known as “novel coronavirus”) is spreading within the East Asia region. Taking into consideration the current situation within the region, sadly SQUARE ENIX has decided to cancel the PAX East attendance of staff who would be travelling from the Japan offices. This difficult decision was based on our desire to prevent any potential spread of the virus and to prioritize the health and safety of our team and our fans.”

The absence of the FFXIV team means that events related to the game are cancelled. The panel session “The Artwork of Final Fantasy 14: A Look Behind the Screen,” that was scheduled for February 28 is no longer happening. The dev signing session has also been cancelled. The company will still be hosting a livestream from Japan on the FFXIV Twitch channel on February 29.

Square Enix has previously announced that they will have two booths at PAX East. One booth is for Final Fantasy XIV and it will still be at the show. Attendees can try their hand at the new Ruby Weapon battle and earn a shirt if they win. The booth also offers photo opportunities and giveaways.

The other booth is set up for Final Fantasy 7 Remake. The Final Fantasy 7 Remake booth will feature gameplay demos, signing sessions with the game’s voice actors, and giveaways for attendees. The booth also features a replica of Cloud’s motorcycle for fans to take photos with.

Square Enix is not the only company pulling from events due to coronavirus concerns. Sony announced its full withdrawal from both PAX East and GDC 2020 earlier this week.

Techland is having a Dying Light 5th Anniversary celebration that runs from February 20 to March 19. The celebration promises multiple events to honour the game’s 5th birthday.

The first part of the Dying Light 5th Anniversary celebration is a free weekend on Steam. The weekend runs from February 20 to February 23. The game will also be available at a 67% discount for those who want to play beyond the free weekend.

Techland is also releasing new DLC and a new game mode for the celebration. The 5th Anniversary bundle contains a new outfit, the “Veteran’s Ride” buggy paint job, and blueprints for 3 new weapons. The new weapons include a pipe that boosts damage after 3 consecutive hits; a double-barrelled shotgun that has faster reload speeds, increased damage, increased bullet speed, and the ability to fire both rounds simultaneously; and a new sledgehammer. The DLC will be sold for $2.99 USD.

The new game mode allows players to enjoy the story of the game without worrying about survival. The mode is called ‘Story Mode” and it will be the easiest mode in the game.

Techland has also promised a month full of global and local community events. There will be in-game rewards for the events. The rewards include a new weapon blueprint, C4, and a new outfit.

All in! Games has released a new trailer for their upcoming release Red Wings: Aces of The Sky. The game is set to release later this year for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

The trailer is a combination of live-action footage and gameplay footage. The live action footage follows a young boy as he visits an aviation museum with his family. He hears the voice of the Red Baron talking about his many aviation experiences accompanied by several cuts to comic book style images of the Baron’s story. The boy meets the Red Baron and they play Red Wings: Aces of the Sky together. Eventually, the boy is found by his mother and the Red Baron disappears along with the game and the Nintendo Switch.

The gameplay footage uses the Switch version of the game. The live action shots show the boy using a single joy-con to control the plane. He seems to rely heavily on motion control to steer the plane as well as to accelerate and slow down.

The game takes place in the era of World War I. Players will engage in dogfights with enemy pilots as they uncover the story of the Red Baron. The gameplay shown in the trailer depicts hectic dogfights, colourful explosions, and unique environment. One of the revealed maps shows a massive tornado on the horizon, which will no doubt affect how players tackle that particular level. Other map hazards include fog,

Gameplay is more than just shooting down enemy pilots. The trailer shows players having to bomb bridges and take down floating targets as well.

Red Wings: Aces of the Sky was originally announced in August 2019. The game does not have an official release date, but is expected to launch this year.

Sony has announced that it will be pulling out of both PAX East and GDC 2020 this year. The proliferation of COVID-19, better known as novel coronavirus is cited as the reason for this decision.

Sony updated their PAX East announcement post from February 13 to inform people of the change in plans.

“UPDATE: Today, Sony Interactive Entertainment made the decision to cancel its participation at PAX East in Boston this year due to increasing concerns related to COVID-19 (also known as “novel coronavirus”). We felt this was the safest option as the situation is changing daily. We are disappointed to cancel our participation in this event, but the health and safety of our global workforce is our highest concern.”

PAX East is set to start next Thursday, February 27, and finish on Sunday, March 1. The event takes place in Boston, Massachusetts The booths at PAX East were going to have demos for The Last of Us 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

A statement was sent to games industry.biz to announce the company’s withdrawal from GDC. The statement mirrors the PAX East cancellation word for word.

“We have made the difficult decision to cancel our participation in Game Developers Conference due to increasing concerns related to COVID-19 (also known as coronavirus).”

Sony isn’t the only company withdrawing from GDC 2020. Facebook Gaming/Oculus will no longer be at the event. GDC 2020 is taking place in San Francisco this year from March 16 to March 20. The event brings together game developers from all over the world to share ideas, make big announcements, and build hype for the rest of the year.

The coronavirus continues to interfere with the gaming industry. Console production, live tournaments, game releases, and more, have all been affected by COVID-19.

A new Destiny 2 cutscene came along with the weekly reset and it has players excited for the game’s next season.. The scene depicts a meeting between two of the game’s most intriguing characters.

The scene drops with only three week’s left in Destiny 2’s Season of Dawn. Players are always looking for hints about the next update for the game and this cutscene seems to be a pretty big hint.

The Destiny 2 cutscene shows Osiris, disgraced Vanguard leader and focus of the Curse of Osiris expansions, confronting Rasputin, massive AI and focus of the Warmind expansion. Osiris opens by telling Rasputin that he believes the machine to be a thug and a traitor. He then asks the machine what side it stands with in the battle between dark and light. The scene alludes to the theory that Rasputin may be responsible for ending the Golden Age, which is a critical piece of Destiny lore.

The upcoming season is expected to revive the original Destiny competitive mode, Trials of Osiris. A datamine uncovered information that points to this and to the name of the upcoming season: Season of the Worthy.

Beyond what the dateline has revealed, details about the Destiny 2’s 10th season are scarce. The season is expected to begin on March 10 and Bungie is sure to drop more information before then.

CD Projekt Red has updated the Witcher 3 Switch version to allow cross-save functionality between the Switch and PC. Players are also now  able to adjust features such as depth of field, anti-aliasing, motion blur, and chromatic aberration effects.

The update introduces save file integration with Steam and GOG. Players can effectively use their PC save file on their Switch and vice versa, allowing for the best of both worlds. CD Projekt Red warns players to not change their PC save file names as the Cloud Save feature on Switch won’t be able to recognize it then. The official update notes also warn that “mod-related bugs and blockers might get transferred from a modded PC game save file.” So, be aware of what mods you have enabled on your save before you transfer it over.

According to Polygon, The Witcher 3 Switch update was first spotted in the Korean version of the game by users on Reddit. The update has since rolled out to all regions.

Perhaps even more exciting for some Switch players is the graphics options included in the update. It’s no secret that the Switch version of The Witcher 3 is less visually stunning than the versions available on other platforms. The new options included in the update will tighten the gap between the versions.

Patch 3.6 also includes touch control support, added text languages, and various fixes and optimizations.

Fans hoping to get their hands on the XCOM-style prohibition-era turn-based tactics game, Empire of Sin, are going to have to wait a little longer. The game, first announced at E2 2019 has had its release date pushed back.

News of the delay comes from the game’s official Twitter account which tweeted out an image with an official statement from Brenda Romero, the game’s director.

“As any good bootlegger knows, good liquor can’t be rushed and the same goes for game development. This is why we have decided to move the release of Empire of Sin to Fall 2020,” said Romero.

“We appreciate all your support so far, and trust that you understand why choosing quality over speed is important. After all, everyone knows you gotta stay sharp to make it in Chicago.”

Empire of Sin was originally expected to release in Spring 2020. Romero Games, the company fronted by Brenda Romero and her husband John Romero, has pushed the release to autumn to have “additional time to polish” according to a press release. The game will launch for PC, Mac, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One.

The game’s story is set in 1920s Chicago, during America’s prohibition of alcohol. Players will set out to conquer Chicago’s underworld by brewing moonshine, running brothels, and fighting anyone who tries to get in the way.

Previews of Empire of Sin have been overwhelmingly positive. A delay in the game’s release isn’t ideal, but hopefully the extra polish is worth the wait.

Online game retailer, Fanatical, has announced the start of Bundle Blast 2020. Bundle Blast is a weeklong event in which players can save money on a variety of games by purchasing them in bundles from Fanatical.

The event is kicking off with the Killer Bundle 12, which includes Sherlock Holmes: The Devil’s Daughter, The Surge, Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, The King of Fighters XIV, SNK 40th Anniversary Collection, and Atari Vault. The bundle is selling for $5.29 CAD with an estimated retail value of $214.44 CAD. Fanatical sells Steam keys for the games which are then redeemed through Steam.

Four other bundles have dropped today with more being added on a daily basis throughout the week.

Along with the daily bundle deals, Fanatical has also launched their Pick & Win contest in which participants can enter for a chance to win one of four bundles on offer. Participants can enter once per day to win one of four bundles of three AAA titles. 50 winners will be selected for each bundle. The contest ends on March 2.
