February 2023 doesn’t look as crazy as February 2022 was. But there are still a lot of massive releases. The Top 5 Video Games Arriving in February 2023 were pretty easy to carve out, but there were so many options for runners-up. We decided to highlight existing successes over unproven potentials. One of this month’s runners-up is the PC release of former PS5 exclusive Returnal. It’s a gorgeous, ambitious roguelike. The other is the remaster of a classic JRPG, Tales of Symphonia. 5. Theatrythm: Final Bar Line – February 16
The Theatrythm games are a series of rhythm games based on the music from the Final Fantasy franchise. The previous two Theatrythm games were both on the 3DS, and it’s been 9 years since the last entry. Theatrythm: Final Bar Line promises more of the same gameplay across a whopping 385 songs! Another 90 songs of DLC are planned as well, featuring music from other Square-Enix franchises, like Chrono Trigger, NieR, and The World Ends with You. Theatrythm: Final Bar Line will be available for PS4 and Switch.
4. Horizon: Call of the Mountain – February 22
There’s a new Horizon game coming! How is it not #1 in the Top 5 Video Games Arriving in February 2023!? It’s a side story, made by a different developer. Even though a new Horizon game should be a massive deal, Sony isn’t putting nearly the same amount of hype behind it, as they have with the two mainline series entries. Horizon: Call of the Mountain features a new protagonist and FPS gameplay. It’s also a launch title for Sony’s PlayStation VR2 headset. Horizon: Call of the Mountain is a PS5 exclusive.
