Even after a couple of weeks of hard use, I am left with mixed feelings. The Turtle Beach Atlas Air headset offers a compelling array of features, some impressive sound, and are remarkably comfortable, especially with glasses on. Yet, some drawbacks hold this headset back from being considered a must-own.

First thing is first, the open-back design is pretty slick. For those who don’t know, an open-back headset features ear cups with perforations or grills that allow air and sound to pass through freely. It’s all about having a more natural and spacious audio experience. This design enhances the soundstage but allows ambient noise to enter, making it less-than-ideal for noisy environments.

The floating earcups do certainly provide an airy soundstage. The sound does feel more natural and less confined. Granted, I can still hear noise in the background and these cans have no ability to cancel out noise, but it does feel immersive and natural. Overall, I found the sound impressive and packed a punch despite some outside distractions.

At 301 grams, the headset is lightweight and super comfortable, with glasses-friendly memory foam cushions. Even after extended use, they never felt uncomfortable and my glasses fit nicely while hearing the headset. I could even slide my glasses on while wearing the headset, which I cannot do with other cans I own. The headset clamps onto my head with just the right amount of force.

The mesh headband is super comfortable as well. The adjustable floating strap can be tightened, so these cans should fit any sized melon. Not to mention, the headset itself is incredibly flexible. So I have no question it’s durable, especially over the long haul. It is certainly one of the more comfortable headsets I have used in some time.

Equipped with 40mm drivers, the Atlas Air delivers high-fidelity 24-bit audio quality. The ‘Waves 3D Audio’ feature, along with a 10-band EQ and Superhuman Hearing, provides a rich, immersive audio experience, perfect for gaming. The sound quality is excellent, with clear highs, detailed mids, and robust lows that make music and in-game sounds truly come to life.

The flip-to-mute mic with noise reduction and 32kHz high-bandwidth performance results in a mic that delivers clear communication. This is obviously crucial for multiplayer and co-op team-based games. Being an open-back headset I could hear my voice which threw me off at first, but eventually, I got used to it. My biggest complaint with the mic is that I cannot remove it. I thought I could just yank out the mic but unfortunately, it’s not possible. Sure it flips up but I would have preferred to have been able to un-attach it and I just wasn’t prepared to use an excessive amount of force to pull it out.

Connectivity is versatile, with low-latency wireless and Bluetooth options, plus a wired mode for flexibility. The QuickSwitch button allows seamless switching between wireless and Bluetooth modes, which is convenient for folks who multitask across different devices. The headset also boasts an impressive battery life of up to 50 hours, and the quick charge feature means you’re never out of action for long. The headset definitely scores high marks for its battery life.

The Swarm II desktop and mobile app offers an advanced 10-band EQ, allowing you to fine-tune the audio to your liking. This level of customization is a standout feature and nice touch for those who like to tinker with their audio settings. Personally, I was more than happy with the default out-of-the-box EQ settings. I didn’t need to tinker with anything at all, which is a nice plus.

However, the Atlas Air headset has its shortcomings. One major disappointment is I could not get it to connect to Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X consoles. I understand this could be a me problem, but I had no luck getting these cans to work with both my Xbox One consoles. For gamers heavily invested in the Xbox ecosystem, this is a significant drawback that can’t be overlooked. If you are looking for new cans for your Xbox, I would avoid these but for PC and PlayStation users, you’ll have no problems with connectivity as that dongle links up with your headset in a flash. The dongle does not work with Xbox and, for me, neither did plugging in the cord to two separate controllers. Maybe you won’t have this issue, but personally, I’d go with the Stealth 600 if you are looking for a new Xbox headset.

Additionally, for a headset priced around $180, there are a few missing features that I look for in more expensive headsets. Features like active noise cancellation, built-in surround sound without the need for external software, and multi-device connectivity with seamless switching are often found in competitors within this price range. The absence of these features might be a dealbreaker. It is for me when purchasing a new headset.

The Atlas Air headset excels in audio quality, comfort, and customization, making it a solid choice for PC, PS5 and Bluetooth device users. However, its inability to be used with Xbox consoles and the absence of some advanced features seen in similarly priced headsets may deter potential buyers. If you prioritize high-fidelity audio and comfort, and can overlook the Xbox console compatibility issue, the Atlas Air is worth considering. Otherwise, you might want to explore other options that offer a more comprehensive feature set for the price.

Turtle Beach has made a name for themselves offering affordable gear that stacks up against the more costly competition. I’ve used an array of their headsets and mice over the course of my gaming career and have never once been disappointed. That’s not going to stop today. In fact, with one of their latest headsets, the Stealth 500, it’s clear that designing budget friendly headsets doesn’t have to come at the cost of quality.

Straight out of the box the new Stealth 500 is quite robust for such a small package. It comes with a short USB cable, wireless transmitter, and a quick start guide. It’s all black, with no splash of color aside from the light Turtle Beach logo and markings, yet it is insanely sleek. All the buttons and dials, as well as a seamlessly tucked mic can all be found on the left side. This flip to mute seamless mic design should be the new standard. It’s completely out of the way, so it won’t accidentally get bumped, no matter how animated you get while playing! There’s 4 buttons which include the one for power, as well ones for easy switching between wireless and Bluetooth, and switching between EQ presets. Additionally, there are two dials – one for chat volume and one for game/media volume.

Simple & Lightweight

The Stealth 500 is super lightweight. It’s a bit on the smaller side and comes fitted with a floating band for comfortability. If you have a bigger head or ears, or if you wear glasses, it’ll be a better fit without this band. Unfortunately it will come at the cost of support due to the complete lack of padding in the headband. And this is noticeable with longer gaming sessions. Thankfully, the ear cushions are a supple memory foam leatherette and offer plenty of comfort and support. The frame is well made, from good quality plastic, and without the vertical sizing option it actually seems to make this even more sturdy. It’s got plenty of “give” however, so no fear of this headset snapping.

The Stealth 500 features 40mm drivers that pack an incredible punch. There is no noticeable lag or delay in game noise or chat and they provide an engaging experience, regardless of what game you dive into. Even more so when using my favorite Turtle Beach feature: Advanced Superhuman Hearing. This makes it so much easier to isolate enemy footsteps or gunfire when playing First-Person Shooters or Action RPGs. Add the built-in EQ modes and the customizability of the Swarm II software and there’s a ton of versatility here. Each setting can be used for an array of situations, whether you’re trying out different games or music genres, or just chatting on the phone. The only real downside is the lack of bass offered when using the EQ modes. Thankfully the Swarm II software adjustments helped a bit. Not quite enough to fully enjoy bass heavy songs, but almost.

Swarm II Software is a Slam Dunk

The Swarm II software allows for convenience and customization. Here you’ll be able to toggle the Superhuman Hearing on or off, as well as adjust audio settings. These tweaks are invaluable and again ensures the Stealth 500 is extremely versatile. There’s also more EQ presets available to use! And as time goes on, this software will provide firmware updates to keep the Stealth 500 up to date and running without issue.

The Stealth 500 offers an average battery life of 40 hours. Which is completely on par with what Turtle Beach touted. At different volume levels this can vary slightly however; though not enough to have any real impact. Which means that you can definitely play for long periods of time before setting these to charge. As long as you’re in the habit of charging them every couple of days you’ll never have to worry about these dying mid-session.

Though the Stealth 500 may not be the best headset I’ve ever used, Turtle Beach delivers high quality on a budget yet again. It’s a welcome addition to my current Xbox setup and works well with the Switch as well. The Stealth 500’s got plenty of bells and whistles, and great sound quality that makes it well worth the price point. Add its sleek design, multi-platform use, and overall adaptability and it’s a steal! At just $80 USD it’s going to be difficult to find a more well-rounded gaming headset on the market right now.

Today marks the commencement of Pokemon Sleep’s Fire Week, heralding the onset of a substantial in-game event centered around the legendary Pokemon, Entei. This event promises players the opportunity to form a bond with the majestic volcano Pokemon, embark on exclusive weekly missions, unlock new items, and reap rich rewards.

Much like the previous Raikou Research Event, Entei will be exclusively encountered in Greengrass Isle. Players must collect Entei Mane, which can be exchanged for Entei Incense and Entei Biscuits. These items, particularly the Entei Biscuits, akin to their Raikou counterparts, will enhance the likelihood of luring and befriending Entei during daily research tasks. Notably, Entei Biscuits confer a significantly greater increase in Entei’s friendship compared to standard Poke Biscuits. During the event duration, Fire-type Pokemon, including Charmander, Charmeleon, Charizard, Vulpix, Ninetales, Growlithe, Flareon, Cyndaquil, Quilava, and Typhlosion, will also make more frequent appearances.

Players can acquire Entei Mane by completing special weekly missions, which yield these coveted items as rewards. Entei’s sleep style is classified as Snoozing, and its signature main skill is Helper Boost (Fire). This skill amplifies the quantity of berries and ingredients obtained through Entei’s Helper Boost by incorporating various species of Fire-type Pokemon into the player’s team. The Fire Helper Pokemon chosen will experience a boost in their main skills, with an increase of one and three during the first and second weeks of the event, respectively.

Furthermore, while Entei may sporadically manifest in Taupe Hollow, such sightings will be exceedingly rare due to the Pokemon’s classification as a Special Pokemon. Players are reminded that only one Special Pokemon can be active on their team at a given time.

Call of Duty is no stranger to mobile platforms. The aptly named Call of Duty: Mobile was released back in 2019 for mobile platforms and is quite highly regarded with a 4.6 out of 5 rating with over 90,000 reviews on the Apple App Store. That’s an impressive feat and speaks to the quality of the game. Now, a new era in Call of Duty mobile gaming has arrived with the recently released Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.

This mobile version of Call of Duty Warzone has been designed to unify the Call of Duty experience with that of the console and PC versions. Included are 120 player battle royales, incredible mobile gaming visuals, and iconic Call of Duty maps, all while improving upon what made Call of Duty Mobile so great. Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile has been designed to give gamers the best Call of Duty experience on mobile devices.

So, let’s dive into the good, the bad and the ugly about Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.

1) Cross-Progression with Call of Duty

While there isn’t any crossplay with either console or PC Call of Duty games, the developers have unified some aspects of Call of Duty with cross-progression. This means that Operators and Weapons are shared among both Warzone and Modern Warfare III, allowing you to take your valuable purchases and unlocks with you wherever you choose to play. Even better, you’ll be able to grind your Battle Pass on either platform.

2) Battle Royale

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile’s biggest emphasis is on the franchise’s battle royale mode. At launch, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile arrived with two battle royale maps; Rebirth Island and Verdansk, both of which have appeared in the console/PC version of Call of Duty: Warzone. Both of these maps have been rebuilt from the ground-up specifically for the mobile version, but designed to be as close to the originals as possible. The battle royale modes feature 120 real players. While the developers haven’t denied the game features bots, they’ve emphasized the focus is to get players into matches as soon as possible – so it stands to reason that there could be some bots appearing in matches.

3) Visually appealing

For a mobile game, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is easily one of the best looking I’ve ever seen. As someone who often enjoys Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III on my big screen, I was shocked at just how impressive the scaled down iPhone version looked. The included maps are near identical to their PC/console counterparts, in both layout and visuals. While there are a couple minor differences, only the most hardcore Call of Duty fans will really notice.

The most noticeable difference I came across was an alleyway in Verdansk. A van was parked in the alleyway and there was just no way to walk around it. Like an invisible wall blocking movement. It was sheer luck coming across it during my playthrough – and I imagine minor issues like this will be patched in time. Overall, there is an impressive amount of detail in both the multiplayer and battle royale maps, especially on the games High visual settings. Of course, all this graphical horsepower leads to the next point.

4) Hot and Beefy

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile clocks in at a ridiculous 11.94 gigs of space on my iPhone. It is far and away the largest app I have on there. While the game features a pretty substantial amount of content, and it’s only a fraction of the size the console versions are, it still leaves a pretty big footprint for a mobile app. It’s also incredible taxing on the phone. While battery life will vary from device to device, it will absolutely drain your battery at a faster clip than most other mobile games. What’s worse is just how much it heats up my iPhone 12 Pro. Just one match on the game’s “high” visual settings and my phone is hot to the touch. After two matches, I have no choice but to shut the app off and give the game a rest.

5) Weak Multiplayer

I’m the type of Call of Duty player that prefers multiplayer over battle royale. I just find the battle royale matches are such a long and boring slog with too many periods of inaction. Multiplayer gets us to the good bits fast. Unfortunately, multiplayer feels like an afterthought in Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile. Featuring a pithy four multiplayer maps (Shipment, Rust, Scrapyard, and Shoot House) spread between two multiplayer options; Mosh Pit or Deathmatch. No Kill Confirmed. No Hardcore. With that said, I imagine they’ll increase both the map count and the amount of modes as time goes on.

6) Free to Play

Obviously one of the biggest draws to Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is that it is free to play on iOS and Android devices. You won’t need to spend any money to be playing Call of Duty on your mobile device. So, regardless of what I tell you, you could (and should) take the time to try the game yourself. Mind you, the initial install takes a ridiculously long time to finish – so make sure you have something to do while you wait, like a few Modern Warfare III matches on your console.

7) The Keep

Like most free to play mobile games, there is always a way for the developers/publishers to make some money. I know, I’m shocked too. In Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, this comes in a variety of ways, such as the Battle Pass, Black Cell, and purchasable Operator bundles. To make these purchases, you’ll need to convert real money into COD Points, Call of Duty’s in-game currency. This is all par for the Call of Duty course. However, exclusive to Warzone Mobile is The Keep. The Keep allows you to spend COD Points to purchase exclusive Mobile Original content that you can’t earn, or use, on any other platform.

8) You Are In Control

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile provides a wealth of control options that should satisfy any gamer. You can connect a wireless controller via Bluetooth or just use the built-in touch screen controls. I’ve tried, but touch screen controls are just too much of an adjustment for me. So, I’ve generally opted to connect my Xbox Series X controller. Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile comes pre-loaded with 9 different HUD Presets, each of which is fully customizable. You can adjust the size and placement of the various on-screen controls, or remove them completely – particularly useful if you’re using a controller.

Conclusion

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is an ambitious mobile game that has a lot of positive things going for it. It will take time for Warzone Mobile to blossom into the amazing content-rich package that Call of Duty: Mobile has become. However, I fully anticipate in time, Warzone Mobile will get there. The extensive control options are a huge positive and I love the cross-progression. Unfortunately, even on it’s lowest visual settings, Warzone Mobile heats up my iPhone 12 Pro a little too much, so I really don’t anticipate playing it much. And with such a huge space-taking footprint, it’s not exactly a game I will want to keep installed for the occasional play session. Hopefully, in time, the developers will better optimize the game to not be such a strain on mobile hardware – or maybe it’s just time for me to upgrade my phone.

In Hamster Inn, you will help the hotel manager Hamsterin and promote its tiny inn. And remember, you will receive better tips if you provide them with better services.

Once they arrived, they began to notice unexplainable and frightening things happening at their new home. These are some things that the other people living in that place struggle so hard to ignore. You must help them discover the truth behind these events and unravel the secrets of their family and their grandfather’s old lighthouse.

A new season for a game means new updates to look forward to. Whether that means, new cosmetics to customize your favorite characters, new items, new maps, or more. Of course, Call of Duty is no exception to this rule. Today, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, as well as Warzone and COD Mobile, are happy to announce the highlights of season 3. The new season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III is introducing a host of new content across all of players’ favorite modes. For instance, players can expect new content for Warzone, Zombies, and new maps for the base game. Of course, this season features the complete integration of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Mobile. 

Modern Warfare III’s newest season will bring a great deal of content to the base multiplayer experience of the game. Players can prepare to battle across six new core 6v6 maps in the base game. Interestingly three of these maps are brand new, one being a remaster and two others coming from Vondel and Rebirth Island points of interest. Additionally players can look forward to equipping new perk vests, boots, and more. 

However, the base multiplayer is far from the only modes getting new content. The addition of season 3 introduces new features to Call of Duty Zombies as well. Importantly, the Dark Aether storyline will continue. Additionally, players can look forward to new challenges including a brand new zombie looking to make it rain fire. Furthermore, Warzone players can expect their glorious return to Rebirth Island. Alongside the Rebirth return, new modes and ranked features will usher in the season.

The game will be coming out on PC, Linux, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Android, and iOS on 14 March 2024. It is inspired by a real-life incident that took place in Florida this year where a police officer mistook a falling acorn for a gun’s sound.

Moreover, there is a demo available on Steam for everyone to try out before its official launch.

Acorn Cop is a 2D first-person shooter that will test your reflex skills. You will step inside the shoes of a cop taking a shooting test. The main objective is to shoot down all the acorns and avoid any human or living thing in sight. It is like a combination of Fruit Ninja with a gun.

Some of the objects that you shoot can turn out to be very useful when destroyed. There are so many collectible items in the game as well. If you miss more than 2 acorns in the 20-minute duration, you will instantly lose. However, if you manage to accomplish it, you will pass the test.

Key features:

– 20-minute format: Do not miss more than 2 acorns and shoot any wrong target for 20 minutes to pass.

– Support items with unique effects: Such as slowing time, clearing all the acorns on the screen, and refilling ammos.

– Funny collectible items: They are optional items, but if you can destroy them, you will earn Steam achievements.

– Classical music: Shooting stuff up while hearing gunshots mixed with classical background music really “makes violence classy”.

This is unlike any adventure or open world RPG game and I never have to worry about where I’ve left off. There’s something super refreshing about this. Of course, if you also like the blood, gore, and quick pacing many shooter titles have to offer, there are plenty of other reasons to watch out for upcoming games. While Call of Duty is the obvious FPS most of us have our sights on for later this year, there are a few other great options set to release in 2024 as well. So what are the top 5 shooter games to watch out for this year? Let’s get into it.

5) Gray Zone Warfare (2024)

Gray Zone Warfare is an open world tactical FPS where the developers Madfinger Games are focusing on realism. Fighting against other players, as well as AI, you will have to make it through a fictional lush and colorful Southeast Asian island called Lamang. Delta Force: Hawk Ops is a FPS that offers both a single player campaign that’s reminiscent of the movie Black Hawk Down, and large PvP multiplayer combat. Players will jump into this tactical FPS and take on missions that require some strategy. It will showcase two multiplayer modes: one is an extraction mode akin to Warzone’s DMZ and the other is a Battlefield-esque PvP mode featuring huge maps. It looks to be this delightful balance of a futuristic atmosphere and classic frenetic combat. It’s going to be Call of Duty and Battlefield fans alike should definitely keep this one on their radar.

2) STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl (September 5, 2024)

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has been delayed a few times but it doesn’t mean we can’t still be excited about it! It’s been over a decade since we got to sink our teeth into a new S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game. The wait is almost over. Just over 6 months to go. Here’s a little about the game, “Discover the vast Chornobyl Exclusion Zone full of dangerous enemies, deadly anomalies and powerful artifacts. Unveil your own epic story as you make your way to the Heart of Chornobyl” Basically, be prepared for the jump scares, the guts and the gore. Of course, the release of Call of Duty: Warzone on mobile sees the return of maps like Verdansk and Rebirth Islands. Importantly, the game on mobile sees player accounts carry across platforms, meaning that players can earn weapon and account XP while playing on the go. The release of Warzone Mobile will see deeply customizable controls focusing on delivering the most premium mobile experience. As far as gameplay, the mobile pre-registration is offering a myriad of rewards for those who want to ensure their ready to go on day one.
