Activision’s Logo Is Back in Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Multiplayer Trailer

Activision Is Now Back as Part of Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Marketing

Call of Duty: Vanguard has been getting a lot of hype in the gaming community sans Activision’s involvement. The studio’s logo—or anything related to Activision, for that matter—has been noticeably absent from the upcoming title’s debut trailer, which was shared to the franchise’s fans last month. The opening of the trailer even said “Call of Duty presents” instead of the usual “Activision presents.”

Now, however, it would seem that Activision is back, as seen in the recently released Call of Duty: Vanguard reveal trailer for the title’s multiplayer mode. Unlike all of the previews that were previously shown, this one prominently includes Activision’s logo. Moreover, PlayStation players were also quick to spot that Activision’s logo was also conspicuously absent from the game’s alpha last month, not spotting any of its marketing material in its start-up screen. One fan who was able to access an unpatched version of the alpha reportedly noticed that the studio’s logo was removed at a later stage.

It is worth noting that Call of Duty: Vanguard is actually going to be the first major product from Activision since the company has been involved in a lawsuit with the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, which began in late July.

A rep from Activision previously revealed that their decision to omit their logo from Call of Duty: Vanguard’s debut trailer was due to “creative” reasons. “Call of Duty has continued to expand into an incredible universe of experiences,” the rep said at the time. “This was a creative choice that reflects how Vanguard represents the next major installment in the franchise.”

Still, Call of Duty: Vanguard fans believe that the devs previous marketing strategy was an attempt to distance Activision’s upcoming much-awaited title from the numerous allegations of wrongdoing that were being aimed at the company.
