Elden Ring Got Grand Award at Japan Game Awards 2022
Elden Ring took the top honors at today’s Japan Game Awards. The action RPG from FromSoftware has received a lot of positive feedback from the gaming community. The critically acclaimed title got the Grand Award during the ceremony.
Japan Game Awards is run by the country’s Computer Entertainment Supplier’s Association. The games that get the awards are also partially voted by the public. Elden Ring was selected as the winner of the Grand Award based on the general voting.
“This game which depicts a dark fantasy world with overwhelming volume and quality has gained tremendous support from many players,” it said. “With enthusiastic comments such as ‘Everything about this game is perfect—it is a God level game.”
The event named Miyazaki as the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry winner. The association gives this award to an organization or individual who has made a lot of contributions to the grown of the Japanese gaming industry.
Furthermore, Elden Ring was also among the 10 games that got an Award for Excellence. The other titles that won in the category are Pokemon Legends Arceus, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, Horizon Forbidden West, Resident Evil Village, and Ghostwire: Tokyo.
In other news, the Game Designers Award went to indie game Inscryption. “It is an extremely unique work,” said Smash Bros. Designer Masahiro Sakurai. “I hesitate to describe the characteristics of the game.”
The game may be a card game, but “the story takes unexpected turns due to the setting, atmosphere creation, and strange metafiction.” “It is definitely a game that gives off a unique character and yet it is very enjoyable to play,” Sakurai added. “The award received much support from the panel of judges.”
