The tournament this year will feature Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, Skullgirls 2nd Encore, and Them’s Fightin’ Herds. Competitors can participate in open tournaments for one or more of these games. Surprisingly, no game from the Super Smash Bros. series is included, despite being a staple in past years.
Evo 2020 had been planned for July 31 to August 2 at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, but, like many other in-person events this year, was cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. However, fans can still purchase a a commemorative badge and lanyard for the event for $25 and help raise funds in the fight against COVID-19 at the same time.
Evo will be donating one hundred percent of proceeds from all purchases to Project HOPE’s Gobal COVID-19 Relief program, where the funds will be used to provide needed PPE (personal protective equipment), training, and other support for front-line health workers fighting COVID-19 around the world.
