Sometimes a massive splash becomes a tidal wave of success. This just happens to be the case when a game reels its players in so effectively. Hook, line, and sinker. Today, developer MINTROCKET is happy to announce that their genre-bending adventure game, Dave the Diver, has globally sold over 3 million copies. As the debut game from the studio, Dave has been met with massive critical appeal, including from COGconnected. Additionally, the game has also been praised by Metacritic and Opencritic. Introducing players to an engaging blend of management sim and undersea adventure.
Dave the Diver is a genre-bending adventure game that allows players to take on the role of the titular character. A diver with big dreams, Dave is intent on running a highly successful sushi restaurant. However, in order to run a sushi joint, Dave is gonna need fish. To get fish, he needs to risk diving down into the horrifying depths of a giant underwater cave. Interestingly, the cave is ever-changing and full of undersea life. While some of this life is ingredients, some is not so happy to have visitors in the cave. Collecting new species allows players to come up with new recipes, expanding the menu of the restaurant. Yet, despite the danger that the monstrosities beneath the waves pose, there is money to be made after all. Importantly, money means new gadgets. Of course, gadgets mean success.
